Is Music the foundation of Language? [Video]

Akpanoluo Etteh speaks at Soundshop x The Brain Bar Salon’s “Music and Language”

On May 28th 2020, Akpanoluo Etteh joined forces with The Brain Bar Salon to host an event called “Music and Language.” In addition to hosting the event, he served as one of the featured speakers, giving a talk about my theory on the connection between music and language. Using evidence from neuroscience, evolutionary biology, anthropology, and clinical psychology, he makes the case that music is far from being merely a happy biproduct of human evolution as Stephen Pinker contends. Rather, music is an essential human trait, and is the basis upon which our powerful capacity for language is built.

We like to invite you to give this video a listen and let us know your thoughts!
